Your Bridal Alteration Timeline
The single biggest favor a bride can do herself is start alterations early. Industry production delays mean most gowns arrive at our boutique within four to six months of order — but alterations themselves should begin once your final body measurements are stable, ideally eight to twelve weeks before the wedding date.

FIRST FITTING
8 to 12 Weeks Out
Bring your exact wedding shoes and undergarments/shapewear. We pin the gown to your exact silhouette and map out your custom alterations plan.
SECOND FITTING
4 to 6 Weeks Out
Major adjustments are completed. We assess the bodice fit, verify the hemline, and construct and test your train bustle.
THIRD FITTING
1 to 2 Weeks Out
We check every last detail, practice bustling with a trusted guest, and steam/press your gown so it is pristine and ready for your walk down the aisle.

What to Bring to Your First Fitting
To ensure pinpoint accuracy during pinning, please bring:
- Your Actual Wedding Shoes: The exact heel height determines the hemline down to the quarter-inch.
- Wedding-Day Undergarments: Bring your chosen shapewear, bra, bust cups, or slip. Undergarments alter waistlines and bust cup placement.
- Hair Accessories or Veil (Optional): Helps evaluate overall posture, neckline proportions, and bustle clearance.
- One Trusted Guest (Optional): We recommend bringing one supportive person (mother of the bride, maid of honor, or friend) who can learn how to fasten your bustle.

Do I need an appointment for Bridal Tailoring?
Yes, an appointment is required. We kindly ask that if you will be bringing someone, please only limit to 1 person. Thank You.
Is there a fee for bridal tailoring consultations?
If you opt not to leave your dress with us following the initial consultation, a $25 fee will be applicable.
However, if you decide to leave your dress with us, we'll happily waive the $25 fee.
Do you offer alterations if I didn’t buy from your store?
YES! We accept all kinds of alterations for all garments!
How many fitting will I need?
Most brides complete 2 to 3 fittings. Highly intricate gowns or full custom reconstructions may require an additional check-in to ensure a glove-like fit.
Can you alter the rest of my bridal party?
Yes. In addition to bridal gowns, our shop provides expert alterations for mothers of the bride and groom, bridesmaids, flower girls, and groom/groomsmen suits.
Do I need an appointment for causal garment alterations?
It’s best to make an appointment so that you do not have to wait.
